Attitudes
For practice, meditation and prayer.
Remember to practice, meditate, and pray with an attitude and a sense of:
Desire and Determination
Desire for the goal and determination that you will reach it because it is the true desire of your heart, all that you really want, your only goal. You are trying to reach reality, God, your true Self. “You want salvation. You want happiness. You want peace” Lesson 20.2:3-5). “In your determination to see is vision given you…. What you desire you will see” (Lesson 20.3:8; 5:5).
Confidence
Confidence that you will succeed, because it is God’s will and yours that you reach God and this place of the eternal in you, your true Self. You cannot fail to reach Him, because it is “the most natural thing in the world” (Lesson 41.7:2). “What you want is yours” (Lesson 20.3:2).
Importance
Doing this is very important, because it is for your salvation and for the salvation of the world, and “salvation is your happiest accomplishment” (Lesson 44.8:2). “Can salvation of the world be a trivial aim? And can the world be saved if you are not?” (Lesson 20.3:4-5). “Salvation of the world depends on [you]” (Lesson 186).
Holiness
There is a holiness in this; it is “an exercise in holiness” (Lesson 45.8:4), a holy endeavour because you are trying to reach God and the place of holiness deep within you. Your practice periods are “holy instants, “holy times” (Part II.In.4:3; 7:2).
